1st Dapto Scouts :: 2025 Kickoff

We’re excited to have the scouts back with us for 2025!

I’ve bundled some info together so please take a moment to read through and get up to speed. Any questions, comment on this TeamApp post, or reach out to leaders directly.

1) START DATES and TIME ADJUSTMENTS:
We’ve decided to move both CUBS and SCOUTS to earlier time blocks this year given it universally works best to parents and leaders. Please note the new times below.

Cubs – Monday 10/02/25 – 5:30-7:00pm
Scouts – Wednesday 12/02/2025 -  6:30-8:30pm


2) BADGES
Most cubs earned a badge or two last term so if your youth is still off school then a job for this week is sewing on those badges! A few kids learned the how-to at CUB camp last spring, for the rest there’s YouTube. For Cubs – there’s a ‘Golden Nugget’ point in it for every scout who returns with their current badges sewn on and up-to-date (plus you want to wear them proudly at Founders Day Camp!).

3) PARENT HELPERS (CUBS)

Cubs will continue with parent helpers this term – thanks to those who gave us a hand last term. We’ll pop a parent on a night here or there – and will share that TERM PROGRAM this week.
If you do have specific BLOCK OUT Mondays, please let me know this week – and if you need change a  Monday that you’ve been rostered – reach out.
We always welcome more parent helpers – so if you’re able please sign up as a ‘Parent Helper’ via this website to start the process of registering to be cleared to help as an Parent Helper.
You will need to complete a free, online, Working With Childrens Check – and Scouts will arrange a free Police Check as well so that you’re fully compliant to be with the youth.

4) BUNNINGS BBQ / CAKE STALL
Details went out 03/02/25.

 This was a last minute opportunity generously offered to us by Bunnings, and these BBQs are crucial fundraisers for us as to covering building costs, insurance, registering canoe trailers, maintainence, additional programing items for fun nights, and extra bits a pieces. We’d love to get some heating in the hall for the kids – and such fundraisers (and the Parent Committees grant efforts) all lead to such investments.

It’s late notice but please do help – if only just for 2 hours – if we can’t get the baseline numbers (4ppl at all times) then we are not allowed to proceed.
At the moment it’s just me (GECKO) manning the BBQ alone – so please keep me company.


5) FOUNDERS DAY + CAMP

Deadline 14/02/2025 8:00pm. No refunds or exceptions after that.

6) PARENT COMMITTEE
Come and help guide/grow/influence/strengthen the Scouting for your kids/s!
